December Events

Posted: 27/11/2019

Dear parents,

As you know, a few important events are happening at the nursery in December and here they are with some details you need to know.

As you may already know, all the children at the nursery have been learning about Weather and Seasons: Sunny Summer, Colourful Autumn, Beautiful Spring and Magical snowy Winter.

To coincide with the end of term theme, we are planning our annual Winter Performance; this year will be taking place on Thursday 5th December 2019 at 10:00 AM at the nursery, where all children will perform beautiful weather songs. Both parents are invited to attend this event with one guest to cheer on your children, they have already started rehearsing. We will start at 10:00 and all class performances should be finished by 11:00.

Please communicate with your child’s class teacher with regards to your child’s costume on the day and what you will need to bring. If your child will be attending, make sure they are at the nursery before 8:30 AM as they will need to have breakfast, rehearse and get ready for the show. If you are attending, please make sure you are here before 10:00 so that we can start on time without any disturbance. At the end of all performances you are invited to your child’s classroom to share a bite together. Therefore we ask you kindly to bring in a small plate of food on this day for your child to share with his/her friends. This will be a great opportunity to have a chat with other parents and your child’s teaching staff. Please be reminded that we are a nut free zone.

We will be celebrating Qatar National Day on Tuesday 17th December at 10:00AM and will have a parade for all classes chanting the Qatari anthem and Qatari national songs. Please dress your child in Qatari Traditional clothes or just simply send them with a Qatari Flag /hat or badge to show support.

Children will parade outdoor then go to their class to celebrate with their classmates and parents. It will be great if you bring in a small plate of food on this day for your child to share with their class. It would be great if the food reflects Qatar’s cuisine and traditions. Please make sure your child is at the nursery before 8:30AM as children will need to have breakfast and get ready for the parade. Both parents are invited to attend with one guest; the children will do their best singing the Qatari national anthem!! They are rehearsing for that with our Arabic language teacher.

Please be reminded that the nursery doesn’t have Term One break like most schools. We remain open as usual and will be closed only for Qatar National Day on Wednesday 18th December, and as well on Wednesday 25th December and Wednesday 1st January.

For those planning a holiday and won’t be here during some days in December, we would like to know ahead of time so we can plan our staff holidays. We highly appreciate if you can inform our administration as soon as possible if you are taking anytime off in the coming few weeks.

Thank you all for your continued support and looking forward to see you all!
